Do you think if you showed this thread to your dealer that he might let you try short rides with different seats? What about the local American Legion club? Surely they'd have a line on other riders who might be able to help you.

Wish you were closer, I'd let you ride my bike to get a different perspective on seat/bar combinations.

Thanks, as always for your service.

Nope, not true.....HD makes a chrome nacelle cap that will allows you to swap to any style risers/bars you want. You can even install T-bars. Look in the multi fit section of their website.

Run by your local dealer & get him to let you hold a set of Heritage bars (56569-86) & a set of Wide Glide bars (56079-93/56079-93T) up to your bike while you sit on it. Both bars can be installed with the stock cables & wiring. The main difference is the wrist angle. Both will raise your hands & mirrors, & can be pulled back to about any position you like. Cost runs between $50 & $60. You can swap 'em yourself in about an hour.

I would look at the Changing the bar's to some of the ones that are recommended. When I changed to the Wildone bars on my 97 RK, I found a dealer in the area with one in stock to hold up to the bike. Did this with several bars till I found the one that felt right.

If you don't already have it, look into the Backrest from Mustang to add to your solo seat. They help a lot.

Thanks for your service!!!

Had the same problem with my 06 RK,put on a Corbin close solo with a factory nose job,a set of Wildones mini 10" apes and that made a huge difference. Also got a backrest and I never leave home without it.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in the defense of our country!

I had that same problem on my '03 RK and a Sundowner solo bucket seat, PN-51928-01, $249.00, fixed it. That model will fit your '07 and it's much easier to install - takes about 2 minutes - than new bars. Some dealers will let you put one on and test ride it before you buy it. That's what I did & it worked out great. I went from not being able to stand riding for more than about 30 minutes to going for 6-8 hours instantly with no problems.

Wishing you the best of luck and thanks again,

John

hi biker HD makes a set of touring pull back handle bars. i bought them for my RG but i did not like them because of my aggressive riding style. go to your local dealer see if he has a pair in stock, sit on the RK and see if they would work for you if you like the touring pull back handle bars. pm me and i sent them to you for free. just pay the shipping. LIKE i said in another post i have many take off's that i just want to get rid of. but i don't want to throw them in the trash either. OH YEAH and thanks for serving this awesome country we live in. oh yeah heres the part number for you 55914-98. handlebar 2 inch pullback fits 97-07 you will need a longer clutch cable.

Thanks, I do just that if I can find a dealer around here that has a set like yours. Thanks to all for your comment about my military service. I was just there like all of the other guys trying to survive. Carrying around a guilt complex for being one of the ones that got to come home. It's been tough. I appreciate all of you.

I installed RK High Bar and it would be about 2" higher and about 2" back.
Cost of bar was only $55.00 and all the stock cables will fit.
Hope this helps. Oh ya,my RK is an 06 standard.
