I have seen other posts on this subject and the opinions seem to vary but it is hard to tell what percentage of people use a certain channel if any at all. Please post what you use so I can get an idea of what is used most. Thanks.
I don't use my CB, except once when I was in a major highway traffic jam, I put it on to figure out how far ahead the problem was. I basically fumbled around on the channels until I heard what I needed to. Don't really have an interest in chatting with the truckers otherwise. Don't know if I'd remember all that CB lingo from the 70's. "Breaker-break 19. Got your ears on? C'mon. 10-4 good buddy! Put the hammer down! We got ourselves a convoy!".
Depends on whether I am riding by myself (Ch. 19) or if I am riding with others. If I am riding with others, I will be on either Ch. 2, Ch. 1, Ch. 40 or Ch. 34.
Yeah, but if you ride with others with Ultras that use the CB it is great to be able to communicate bike to bike.
+1!!
A buddy and I use ours when riding in a group, where the majority of the group do not have CB's. He takes the lead as Road Captain, and I ride Tail Gun. With our CB's on, we can keep the group riding safe and together!
This method is also used when I ride with the Blue Knights, so that we keep the group together and safe.
