I may be a bit premature here but...I laid my bike down a week ago Saturday. The adjuster told me that it is real close to being totaled. He needed some accessory information from me such as helmet type, bag, and rainsuit that were all a loss in the wreck. I forwarded that on to him on Thursday and did not hear back from him on Friday of course he is gone for the long holiday weekend. I spoke with the Service Manager at the dealer where the bike is and he briefly went over some of the estimate that the adjuster left for him, and they left off the aftermarket fairing. This with the paint is about $1300. This will probably put it over the total mark.
I was actually riding out to a dealer out of state where I was going to be spending a few weeks for work with the intention of possibly trading it in. I have been wanting an Ultra Classic, and I do like the 2010 Limiteds that are out there. Discounting getting the Limited is there a big difference between a 2009 and a 2010 Ultra? Is it enough that I should go for the 2010?
This might all be moot anyway if they decide that it is not totaled, but it does make for some interesting dreaming.
I would be praying it is totalled. The upgrades from the '07 to the '10 make a world of difference. I hope your insurance covers all the extras, most don't unless you pay a higher premium for the coverage. I'd go for the '10, not alot of diffenerce from the '09 but why buy a new bike that is already a year old technically? And they did modify the frame a tiny bit too on the '10.
