Default Another lowering question..

I am having trouble flat footing the SG. I know it is already an inch lower in the rear than other tourers. What about the front? Can I lower it an inch as well? Wouldn't that give it the same rake/trail as the others? And get me a little closer to the ground?

I got a air ride system. I can ride the highways at stock height and lower it for in town with frequent stops. I also lower it to back up and when I see gravel or sand. The best solution I have found. I now feel safe on this 09 Ultra. I also keep my under the bike clearance. Lowered bikes will rub and loose the back wheel if cornering to hard. I just raise mine and problem solved. I would not want a permantly lowered 09 or 10. I can drop mine to mid thigh and just raise it up to my butt for a custom fit. My problem is solved. I bought the kit from Arnott and installed in about an hour.

Progressive makes a spring kit, with the option of a 1 or 2 inch drop in the front...i went with the 2 inch drop and have had no issues with this set up at all...btw its an easy do it yourself project too.

Yes you can lower the forks, Harley sells a 1 inch lower fork spring should do the trick for you. I have lowered my RKCustom that way when I put On chrome lowers fork sliders.

Do you have the part no of those 1" lower springs handy? I'm planning to do the same with my SG and add a 21" frontwheel.

WideBongo 1 inch lowering fork spring part #54628-06 and should be used with lowered rear shocks on touring models, not for RoadKings or Police models.
