I rode a Metric for 58,000 trouble free miles before buying my Road Glide. I loved the bullet proof nature of the Honda but I rerely had anyone drool over or lust after my bike.
Things have changed since buying my "Fuggly" Road Glide. I have lots of complete strangers stop me and take about how good looking the bike is and discuss general MC topic. Heck.....I had three today stop me to make positve comments. (More than in three years with my Honda) I am beginning to realize that looks, sole and sensory superiority helps make up for the mechanical issues that seem to come with a Harley.
All in all... for me it is a positive. Great looking and fun bikes. I am beginning to get it.
Good deal. I just started riding about a month ago and I have gotten a bunch of compliments on my Fat Boy. Got one from a long bearded rider that has probably ridden more bike miles than I've driven. Have you posted pics or your bike?
Kumite,
Congratulations on your Double Promotion!
1st You now own a Harley Davidson.
2nd You are riding a Road Glide
It doesn't get much better than that.
I like it when the real "Old Timers" come up and start telling me about the Harleys that they had WAY back in thier day, like in the '30s&'40s. ..............I've had that happen to me many, many times over the years.
