New Convert...
I did it... I bought a 2008 RKC FLHRC. Had an FXDC since 2008 and finally decided to get something bigger...
Anyways..
I need help with 2 things...
1- a Backrest for the wife... I cannot seem to find the part number on the HD site... it mentions all model numbers except FLHRC
2- The bike I bought is completely stock... I dont want to punch holes in the exhaust and I dont want to invest as much as I did on the dyna (Complete system, Hypercharger and PCIII)... what can I do to get some good sound?! Slip-ons? would these be ok without a computer upgrade and without an airfilter upgrade?
I hope that these will be the only upgrades I work on... I have spent a small fortune on my FXDC and dont want to make the same mistake again.
Thanks...

Of course it would be better, but you don't "have to" do those upgrades if you don't want to.
I ordered the V&H Oval Slip on mufflers... and as I dont want problems with having lean issues, I contacted V&H and below is the response
"We always recommend to remap the fuel injection to obtain the proper Air/Fuel mixture. Failure to do so will result in lean conditions. Also by re-mapping, your bike will have an increase in throttle response and drivability. All in all the bike will be properly tuned for the pipes. You will also need high flow intake kit. This applies for full systems and slip-on systems. The Vance & Hines Fuel Pak is the Recommendation. www.fuelpakfi.com"
I understand that they like to push their products by making me buy their fuel pak but is it really necessary? is it necessary to get an air filter? would not having a pc iii or fuel pak damage the engine?
thanks...
