My buddy is getting the urge to ride. We looked at this bike, a 2002 Road King. It's injected, has true duals, some great sounding mufflers (don't know who's), Chrome front end, stage I, new rubber, and some assorted doo-dads. Mileage is 26,xxx
Owner is asking $10,500. I told my buddy to offer $10k even as an opening position. Its in good shape, and rides good. About the only thing I dont know about is do 2002 have cam chain tensioner wear issues?
Anyway, here is the bike. Tell me what you think..
Tim
I tried to buy virtually an exact clone of that bike earleir this year. Seller would not budge off $14,000. He never did sell it. Still, that price seems $1-2,000 lower than what they typically go for. At $10 it is a good buy
This bike is ready to have the cam chain tensioners start making noise. Right at about 30k , you need to take a look. And, if your gonna take a look, you might as well change them to the btter ones. In my opinion $10,500 is not a steal, or a good deal.Anything $10k or under, you can say you got a fair price. But, you can find police bikes with 8 or 10 k miles for $500 less and newer model also. But, I would say if he likes it get it. I bought my 06 Road King for $10k. Remember, this is not a classic, but a Road King standard. Not worth as much as the Classic for some reason.
Looks good....love my '02 FLHT. Not the same bike obviously but I paid a little more than that for mine. It did come with 2 seats, 2 windshields, 2 covers and is pretty well all chromed out. I certainly would offer at least $500 less, all they can do is say "no".
