Default 259E with stock push rods?

I'm changing out my 103, flat top piston, 255 cam with the hc piston and 259E cams. can i use the stock pushrods or do i need to go to the adjustables? i'm also using a .030 head gasket. thanks

I would go with the perfect fit pushrods. That cam along with the 10.5 HC piston will get you 95-100hp/100-105tq with stock heads. If you reworked the heads it would be better.

i did polish the heads (cc and exhaust. left the intake alone) is there an advantage in the perfect fit pushrods over a set of adjustables?

The perfect fits are solid pushrods yet lightweight. Adjustables can come loose (if you do them right, it's rare but has happened). The non tapered adjustables have a tendency to rub on the tubes. I'm not sure of the lift on the 259E's so I don't know if you could get away with your stock pushrods or not.

I'd reconsider tossing all that money away for minimal, if any, gains but it's your money. A GOOD tune with your prior components will net you the same power, however, the 0.030 head gasket is a good idea.

Here are the specs regarding what you need for the 259E's and others:
