Went by my dealer last week was told that all the SVO models run for two years and that there would definately be a 07 screaming eagle ultra classic. It wouldnt be the first time that I have had a dealer give me faulty info. Will there be a 07 SE Ultra. I know the SE fatboy was sold for 2 years. I should have bought the SE Ultra to begin with instead of the one I bought, but who know the wife would love to ride as much or more than I do. (It is really hard when your wife is pressuring you into buying a new bike) Was my dealer correct should I start making plans for a new SE Ultra?

Going on how the CVO bikes have gone in the past, then you should see the S/E Ultra Classic again in '07. Each bike is done for 2 years, and if they stick to that then you are all set to wait for it.
I like a lot of the extras on the SVO models, I also dislike a few. Maybe it would be better to say that I probably would have chosen other alternatives. That being said, I would never buy an SVO, I would much rather get a deal on a stock bike and spend a lot of time, and many times less money modding the bike myself. I for one get a lot of satisfaction and joy from searching Ebay, and other sites for deals and then tinkering with my bikes. This is all part of the experience for me. My wife says sometimes I get more excited seeing the UPS guy or Fedex than her.
I also heard all of the rumors surrounding the '07 models, but made my purchase of the '06 anyway. Harley just recently revealed that they are overstocked by 20% on their '06 models. Yeah the salesmen will still try to convince you that there is a waiting period, everything is backordered etc, but in reality there are plenty of bikes available and HD wants them gone. I purchased my brand new '06 Ultra for $18,685.00, that was a thousand under MSRP. By the time I have 25k or 30k into it, I will have my version of the perfect ride. Yeah, I may salivate over the 07 when it comes out, but hey I can just wait a bit and buy all the parts that get sold on Ebay when the new owners decide to change them out, and voila I still have a better deal.

I agree, good looking ride you have. I also agree that you can beat the bushes and find a nice bike for a lot less, then make it your own. I really get a kick out of seeing everyone on their CVO bikes, as the smile runs from their face when they see one just like it, or get smoked but some ole rag like mine. I also enjoy knowing that I have TWO bikes done they way I want them for way less than what their ONE cost. I have one that runs like a wild cat. It's my primary, long haul rider, and I smoke my buddies shinny CVO bike on a regular basis. Out of the hole, and top end. I also have a "blinged out" bike that get's more looks than his ever get's. I can get him out of the hole on it, but he can pass me after about 70. Either way, I figure I have the best of both worlds, plus the option to ride something different if I want. My opinion? Keep riding what you have and keep the feelers out there for a buy on a used Ultra. Then make it they way you want it, and keep your Fat Boy for bar hoppin, or whatever.
There will be an 07 SE Ultra. They ran the Roadglide in 00 and 01. The Roadking in 02 and 03. The Classic in 04 and 05 and the Ultra in 06 and again in 07. They usually run one or two other CVO's like they did with the Fatboy and Vrod.
