Default New cover question

I picked up a new cover for my scoot on Craigslist. It is a HD cover, specifically, 98722-90C.

It says it shouldn't be used for long term storage. I want to keep it on my bike in a garage to keep the dust off. What are the potential issues if I keep it covered all winter. Garage is attached to the house and wouldn't get below 50-60 degrees.

Is it just a matter of trapping moisture?

Hard not to use it because I only had to give $25 for it.

Experiences?

Thanks.

Pic is the cover I have.

that is a cover used when traveling to keep the rain and weather off your bike. it will trap moisture and could cause parts to rust. the cotton type cover or one that breaths would be a better choice for long term storage.

You may already know this but, be careful and not put your cover on immediately after a ride. As the bike cools off, it will draw moister. Ever see your garage floor wet from moister? One thing you can do if you park your bike in the garage on concrete, put a flat piece of cardboard or anything else that will slow or stop moister from going straight up onto your bike and components.

You need just a a light weight dust cover. Try WalMart.

I use big bed sheets on mine. Forget that cover. save it for travel or sell it for profit.
