Default Got stranded today--need help with codes

Stopped for gas today. Filled tank and went in and paid for the gas. Came back out 5 minutes later and cranked bike. Make a U turn around the island and came back to the curb to park. When I stopped so I could back into the parking space the engine died.

The motor turns over but there is no fire to the plugs. One guy stuck a screwdriver up into the spark plug boot and held the metal shaft while I held the starter button-no fire.

I called the dealer and he talked me through the procedure to retrieve the codes that were thrown. They are 1001 and 1003. He said they indicated something in the "spark" circuit but I couldn't understand what he was trying to tell me. Can anybody explain these codes to me?

I suspect bad gas or water in the gas. I haven't checked yet but I will in the morning-just got home with the bike. I'll try to get to the filter in the morning but looking at the service manual, it doesn't look easy.

The bike is an 09 UC with 16000 miles. It's never given a minutes trouble until today.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Does not sound like a bad gas problem. Here are the codes:

I checked all the fuses and swapped the relays-no go.

I printed out the information from the link you provided. I'll check codes again in the morning.

Thank you both for your response.

Why not use the warranty? Good luck.

Take it to the dealer, pick it up when it's fixed?

If the guy holding the screw driver didn't get the crap shocked out of him then why would you look for fuel problems. I think I would let the dealer fix it.
