Thanks to all. The dealer will probably be able to fix it so I'm taking it to them today. Since the problem occurred so soon after fueling up I suspected that the fuel may have been contaminated and caused a misfire that the computer detected and shut the engine down(no spark). I wanted to make sure it wasn't a bad gas issue as they probably will not warranty that.
When it broke down I realized I didn't know squat about how this bike works. For 16000 miles it's done nothing but run perfectly and I guess I must have thought it would never break. Well, that bubble busted yesterday, so today I will begin the learning process. I at least want to be able to make an educated guess as to what is wrong when the bike has a problem. In another year there won't be a warranty and I'll have to be able to do some of the work myself. I have a wealth of knowlege to take advantage of on this forum and I plan on using it.
I did some research and found that the Crank Position Sensor could cause no spark/no fuel so that's what I'm thinking it is now.
I'll keep y'all posted on what the dealer finds.
Thanks
PS cmashark and laytonj1-sorry I got your names reversed on my last post

Different codes for bad CPS...I believe there is a "System" relay that controls starting of the bike as its primary function...the 1st code sounds like the coil of this relay is "open" or defective in some way OR no voltage getting to the coil to operate the contacts...could be a blown fuse, or a loose /broken or disconnected wire connecton to the relay coil...
Not sure where this system relay is located, but that would be the 1st place to start along with a shop manual...good luck...brad
If the guy holding the screw driver didn't get the crap shocked out of him then why would you look for fuel problems. I think I would let the dealer fix it.
My Dad did the trick on me 40 years ago - awh the good old day's, if it had gas/fire/in time - she'd run...... If I said oil - well you know what would happen

Me too! Only it was my older brother. He was 16 and I was 11. He'd beat me up if I refused! He doesn't have enough az to do that anymore.
I ran a small diameter plastic tube down to the bottom of the tank and drew some fuel out. It was a milky color and would not burn. I did it again and got mostly gas with some water drops in it and it did burn. I'm going to try to get to the filter and check that. Then I'll drain the tank and put some new fuel in and try that.
Does the fuel injection assembly hold much fuel besides what's in the line from the tank? I'll have to get any water out of that also.
I siphoned the gas out of the tank and found it was about 50% water. I pulled the tank and drained it completely. Put about a gallon of fresh gas and sloshed it around then dumped it out. I'm letting it sit overnight in the shop with a fan blowing into it to try to get it dried out.
I'm getting new fuel filter and spark plugs tomorrow and try to start it. I dont know if it'll have fire to the plugs or not. I'll try to clear the codes before I try to start it.
The owner called me today and said he would take care of it. Since I'm this far into the project, I'll finish what I can do and if there are still problems I'll take it to the dealer.
Hopefully once I get the tank back on and fueled up I'll be able to clear the codes in the computer and maybe it'll start sparking and run OK.
I got a new fuel filter, 2 spark plugs and a can of seafoam.
My biggest worry is that there may be problems down the road and maybe I ought to bring it to the dealer even if I get it going. What do ya'll think?
