Default Dyna Tek ???

Was wondering if any of you guys run or have ran the Dyna controllers and could maybe give me so info? The module has 2 dials 1 for rev limiter and one for advance. Advance dial is set at 36B assuming that is 36 degrees BTDC. I just bought the bike and I know it has some mods just not sure about mods. anyway wondering is this overall advance and at what rpm does it come in at? The guy i bought it from says that it has a flat side carb? The motor seems to backfire some times at idle just as you start to blip the throttle. could this be do to too much timing or more to a lean fuel mixture? There seems to b a lot of knowledgable people on here hoping for some help as i am a heck of an auto mech. not much on H-D but wanting to learn. Oh yeah the scoot is an 01 electra glide classic think that it has th 95 bore kit with cams not sure of compression but it does have manual releases.
