Custom: plain fenders, no cruise, beach bars, no windshield, different style leather bags, pass pegs not boards, and probably a few more. My brother has the custom, and I have the classic.
Yeah, I was trying to view specs on HD site and noticed they don't have the custom listed. Don't know what year they stopped.
The reason I asked is because my father is looking at an '06 custom for sale. When I started looking for price comparisons that's when I noticed there is a custom as well as the classic.
The one he's looking at is an '06 with 5k miles for about $11.9 OBO.

Thanks for the info
That's a good year for Harley, he's had nothing wrong (30K+ miles) except the front motor mount. Give that a look before you buy. My only thing is, they come so stripped yet they call em a touring bike?? He's added a ton of stuff to his, but it's a beauty.

The RK Custom was made from 2004 through 2007. The Custom sits lower than the Classic as it has shorter rear shocks. The Custom has mag wheels and black tires, the Classic has spoke wheels and white wall tires. The Custom does not come stock with passing lamps, the Classic does. Most differences are cosmetic except for the cruise control. The engine and transmission are identical.
I tour on my 2007 RK Custom but I have added a detachable windshield and passing lamps. Also added a detachable passenger backrest and luggage rack but these do not come on the Classic either.
The RK Classic has the nostalgic classic look and the RK Custom is more a custom look. The Custom lines are cleaner and simpler. I think of the Custom as the Harley touring class Fatboy.
There is nothing that I dislike about my 07 FLHRS.
But the smooth wheels were an option, as my brother got on his. It's a fine machine, and far more rare than a lot of these bikes. The RG custom for 2010, is a spin off of the RK custom in a lot of ways.
If your Dad can pick that RKCustom up for $11k have him do it. No one said anything about the chrome wind deflector mounted on the head light that no other Harley has. THe fact that the FLHRS & FLHRSI was only made from 04 to 07 makes it a little rare. The CVO Screamin Ealge Road King, and the Custom close in looks, but not in price. Then the MoCo came out with tha Street Glide, and that did the Custom in, and those who have a Custom love them. Tell Dad to go for it.
