I just got back from my HD dealer. I've been reading the forums all week on engine upgrades. I asked for some prices:
Option 1: SE 255 Cams only = $550 + tax
Option 2: 103 Big Bore + Manual CRs = $1800 + tax
Option 3: Shop bores heads to 103, new pistons, CRs, SE 255 = $!300
All would include a new map based on their experience with other builds (a dyno would run about $240 more). Also would put the Timken bearing in.
My bike is an 07 Ultra with SERT, SE A/C and the old SE slip ons. Bike has 33K miles.
The dealer does thier own machining and have done several of these builds. Anyone have any thoughts on going with option 3? The price is pretty darn good and they've done this before. For about $500 more, I could have them port the heads, but don't think I need the extra performance and not sure I want them doing this although they've done several.
The wrench said I could expect 15-20 more on the torque curve with option 2.

Just curious, for $240 they will dyno tune and a timken conversion? Dude that is a helluva deal. Just get them to bore your cases and drop the 113 cylinders in there. Shouldnt be much in added labor since they have to split the cases to do the timken anyway....
