Default 2009 SG engine noise??

If read a lot about the IPB issues and searched the forum.

My 2009 SG has a definant squeak at low rpm accel. Seems to increase in speed and then start over when I change gears. I notice it in the three lower gears and when the bike is cold. Seems to go away when the bike gets hot.

Any ideas?

I have it also. Started about 1000 miles ago. Mild. I hear it mostly in the lower gears accelerating from 2-3K. Especially when cold. After that I think wind and exhaust noise covers it. I think it is coming from the rear end so does wife. She hears it all the time if I turn down the stereo. It doesn't really get louder, its just there. Maybe the belt or the isolated drive system bearing as it is louder when I turn to the right. I put it on the lift and rolled and wiggled the rear wheel. No noise and everything feels tight. It only does it under acceleration. If I pull in the clutch or shift to neutral and coast, no noise. I am taking it in tomorrow.

I had a squeak from drive belt on my '06 Road King. Sprayed a little silicon spray lube on it, noise went away. Jr.

Silicon spray and a little adjustment did the trick. Didn't take it in after all.

Problem solved

Was the belt. SG only needs 1/4 to 5/16 slack in the belt (book)

tightened it and no more squeek
