pcIII map for 25 degree injectors and rineharts tds?
o.k im a bit confused. i have an 06 rk custom with the rinehart t.ds, s.e air cleaner, and pcIII. im using map 807-220. i downloaded this map in may 06.---o.k i have the 8 degree injectors now and getting the 25 degree injectors tomorrow.. my question is will i have to adjust the bars on the faceplate or leave it. the way i look at it the map i put on it in may which is 807-220 is really for the 25 degree injectors, so i am and it shows running a little lean right now. the map should be right once i get the injectors put in...................basically im saying when harley changed the injestors in feb 06, dynojet had to update the map to the newer 25 degree injectors also to make it run right. which means everybody that has a bike with the 8 degree injectors, and decided to get a pcIII after may is running theyre bike with a map for the 25 degree injectors. am i right or am i confused seems right to me. please help if you have this setup.
RE: pcIII map for 25 degree injectors and rineharts tds?
I don't think the pcIII needs a different map. When the 25 degree injectors are installed, the dealer flashes a new map
to the hd ecm. This should give the same volume of fuel to the cylinder as the 8 degree. The PCIII then uses the same percentages of time increase on the injectors which gives the same volume of fuel increase or decrease per the pcIII map. This should result in the same amount of fuel flow regardless of injector. I am getting the same thing done and have a custom map installed. We will see if theory works.
RE: pcIII map for 25 degree injectors and rineharts tds?
well i got the new injectors putin today, the dealer put a custom map on my pcIII that they put on another bike just like mine with the same set up. the map was still the 807-220, but they must have tweeked #s here and there for that persons bike, however it ran like sh#$ on my bike so i went back to the factory map 807-220 for 06 rking, rinehart t.ds, s.e air cleaner and stock ecu + i added 20%more fuel in the 0%throttle from 2000 -6000 rpms. it runs great just had it out for a few minutes and all the popping it had with theyre custom map went away. it seems to be starting quicker with the new injectors. ithought this problem was with the power commander since the bike fires immediatly without the pcIII, but now its better, as far as performance --the bike is about the same. it never was bad with the 8s but i did have a stall when its cold out a time or two, but other than that its a horse with the 8s. i just wanted the 25s cause they were free and it took him a whole 20 minutes tops to put em in. anyhow ill update after somemore riding if there are any more differences.....peace out,,,,,jake
