Help - I must be doing something wrong. I have an 09 Ultra and the radio/CD/Aux volume is very low. I know this isn't the greatest sound system around, but when I first got it, it was loud enough to hear the song. Now a full volume, you can bearly tell what song is being played when traveling at 55 mph. When you try to increase the volume, it seems like for a 1/2 second, it tries to get loud, then goes back to a level is is acceptabe when stopped. I had an 09 rental Ultra and it was OK. You could hear the music at 55 (kinda-sorta).
Is there a setting that I have accidently messed up?
Another thing to check is have you played with the VOX setting on the intercom. Just to make sure it's not something like that turn off the intercom and the CB and see if it works. If it does then turn things back on one at a time. You could have the squelch open and the CB volume all the way down. Anyhow, just turn all off and back on 1 at a time.
I've tried all settings on the AVC. I like 3 or 4 bars and it appears to give the most radio volume.
I need to check the intercom and CB. It could very well be one or both of those. Perhaps something to do with the override function. Very good suggestion.
Check your settings under the AVC and you probably will find that you may have the lowest or lower setting selected. as previously posted, 3 or 4 bars works just fine on speakers,
Check the fade. If the fade is set more toward the rear it cuts the volume in the front.
Push in on the volume control, it should go to bass, then treble, then fade. The only way the squelch would interfere is if the cb is on and the squelch is broke. If the squelch is broke or the intercom is working then there is not volume at all.
