This was discussed on another forum and this is something I wanted to try making with plans of marketing them in the future but I got busy with other things and finally after making them last month got to test them on my EGC yesterday . Clear lower fork mounted wind deflectors.
They work !.. Im thinking clear and possibly smoke . We put on 150 miles or so yesterday and the buffeting is pretty much eliminated. This is an idea i used and made a set a few years ago for my honda shadow sabre... Thes with the under fork mounted baffle rock!... Look at the pics tell me what ya think . Now these wont fit an ultra with out making some clearance for the lowers . Im pretty sure also that on a street glide the turn signals will interfere but there a couple other models they will work on and I had that info and i have to find it again and there is a chance I could come up with a little different design for other model bikes.. I tested these at like 5 to 85 mph yesterday ..... Now I put this on the other site and I really dont hang there but it all got started there. I have an extra set and riding season is about done here . If I can get someone that really is interested in these and wants to test them we can work something out.. Also like the other site please dont take this as spam im just an out of work guy trying to come up with something to help with some extra cash . Nope it aint spam its an opportunity .. If it goes i will surely pay for advertising on this site.. I just need to start somewhere somehow.
Thanks and feel free to pm me..
Interesting concept ....... so they are pretty much the same as the HD ones, but clear? I like the idea, I have the chrome ones and always think of taking them of in the summer on the RK when I remove the windshield. My only concern would be longevity, testing them at 5 to 85 is one thing, but at 60-80 for a whole season is a lot of stress. Time will tell, keep us posted.

The set I made for my old honda shadow sabre are still in use on the same bike and although the guy is a pig and has never washed the bike with soap and water let alone clean it at all they still look good and there are no problems with them.. I use Lexan and it holds up fine. the problem is bending it. I made a home built sheet metal brake since I cant use the one at work anymore and it works but a good quality (bout 600 bux) brake will bend the stuff clean and easily. But I cant see me buying one right now. If there is enuff interest then ill buy one and ive already found one at the local metal store where im buying steel for mounts and stuff for my hot rod project .. Ill garuntee that unless you crash you will never mess them up . Now that said remember road debris and rocks and stuff will muck em up but then they will match our fairing/windshield better ..
I was looking for something like these and couldn't find anything. I ride year around and put the chrome ones on for winter. I will buy a set when they are available if reasonably priced. I'm not crazy about the look of the chrome ones.
I Have a R-K Custom and run a windshield most of the time, if you need a test rider to test your product you can PM on this fourm.
I live in Oregon on the rainy coast and could test them for both wind and rain...
I am willing to fork over some cash to help with cost in exchange for testing them under harsh conditions for you.
PM me if we can work something out.
Im really not crazy about the looks of these but maybe if they were smoked they would look better... and if you make them easily removeable that would be a huge plus as well. How bout a set with the sides of them cut out like flames or something? Just a thought... good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
