HID Passing Lamps
Good luck! I just bought a HID bulb...doesn't use the ballast. I will let you know if they are any good.

I have run hid on my road glide for over a year with no issues. Get a good kit and you will be ok.
I connected my ballast to the battery using a relay, switched on by the bike's wiring.
You could also try using LED fog light bulbs. Low drain on the charging & battery system.

I've tried the LED ones similar to what your listing only difference in the ones I've used is they are for H-3 lamp enclosures but have the same amount of SMD LED emitters.
IMHO, they are for show only. They do NOT put out enough luminance at this stage of LED technology. Maybe in a few more years but not this here today. They are pretty bright to stand about 12 feet in front of the bike and look at, but when your out at night they hardly put out light at all.
They are low drain on amps and that is about it.
Waste of money IMO.
But, since you have brought them up, have you purchased them and tried them?
If so what are your impressions of them at night?
I'm also looking into going with a true HID (with ballast) in the stock passing lamp outer lamp enclosure, maybe the lenses and reflector assy too.
Or just changing out to a completely different lamp assy with HID all in one.
As for using the relay, its a better idea to do so since it affords your ability to switch the two HID lamps on with out surging the stock wiring. The only thing that the stock wiring should do with relays installed is actually energize the relay coil, and then the direct line for powering the HIDs (fused as well) going back straight to the battery gives you better, stable current and will allow for longer ballast life as well. Your choice.
