Question Wheel bearings

Anyone have any insight on how often to pack the wheel bearings? I've got just over 20K on the clock of the 08 and been thinking about doing it when I change the tires next time.
Thanks in advance.

The wheel bearings are sealed, don't know that you could do anything other than replace.
Part # 9276 about $20 each for non ABS bikes

Oh, we used to have to pack them in the shovelhead days. Thanks for the info.

I don't know how long they are supposed to last, but the rear wheel bearings went out on my '08 Street Glide at 26,500 miles.

The sensation was that the rear of the bike felt loose. Though I could feel it at highway speeds, it was more noticeable at the lower speeds.

Thankfully, the dealer replaced them under warranty.

I'm at 42000 miles on my stock wheel bearings, I think I'll replace them at my next tire change.

How long are they supposed to last?

Is the dealer the only place to get them, or can you get them at a bearing dealer?

Steve

I plan on replacing mine at 50k barring a failure prior to that.

My rear one went out at 41K. Bought a new take off rim from local dealer for cheap. Lots of dealers and bike shops have new take offs from people getting custom rims. Get new rim and bearings all in one.
