Have an 08 Ultra with 10,000 miles. Developed a severe brake vibration in the front brakes. Took it to Greenville HD Greenville SC. They test drove then measured runout of the rotors and said that 1 was 2 thousand out and the other was 3 and harley says 8 is exceptable. But these guys said that it felt excessive to them and put 2 new rotors and new pads on the front. Hats off to Mike at Greenville HD for a job well done. Also cleaned the bike up before it left the shop. I'm impressed.
And I will add a big thank you and kudos to Montana Harley Davidson of Missoula. On the way to Sturgis this year I started blowing fuses which knocked out my guages, signals, and brake lights. Periodically when I started the bike that one fuse would blow.
Took it in to them off the highway, they looked at the bike right away, spent about 1-1/2 hours trying to track it down. They couldn't replicate the problem, suggested I unplug my Magellan from the access cig lighter as it may be making too much of a draw on start up. Because they couldn't find a fault they only charged me $2 for the fuse...... no shop charge
Well done, and their advice was correct. Would recommend them to anyone looking for work or purchase. And I have had no problems since.
I too had a good experience at Montana HD. Three years ago while touring the Pacific Northwest (I'm from San Diego), my starter went out in Spokane Wa. The only place that had a starter was Missoula. They said if you can make it here, we'll fix it. This was July 3rd. The service rep and tech stayed till 8 PM to get me back on the road before the holliday. My heros that trip.
