Sarge, Thanks for your service. Your sacrifice is appreciated. Next time you come up this way, make sure you do the Dragon, Cherohala loop. And around Bristol, Shady vally over 400 curves in 12 miles and the devils triangle and..... lots of great roads.
Food, the beacon is always great for some fresh grease. Shealy's in Blacksburg/leesville is pretty good. Yoders in Abbeville near Greenwood. Lots of great places to eat in Hendersonville NC.
Sarge, And I plan to do that the week after Christmas. Plan to take my bike and the wife's bike down to Jax Beach (visit relatives) and head south on A1A for a couple days. Also plan to head north to Savannah for an overnigher.
We were in Maggie Valley at the beginning of October and had a blast. The weather was excellent. Check out Wayah Rd for a great ride with awesome scenery.
Next time you go to Orange Park, you have to stop by Whitey's Fish Camp. Live music 6 days a week, biker and boater friendly. The Outback Crab Shak is nice too but since they were flooded out last year, it hasn't been the same. I look forward to exploring many more routes up here in the Carolina's.
+1 on Whitey's. Good food, reasonable prices, and biker freindly.
Glad you posted this thread Sarge. I have a son in school in Greenville and have taken the bike up several times to ride. Been on 276 several times. What are other backroads in the area around Travelers Rest up toward Brevard and Asheville that I should check out.

If you don't mind me jumping in, besides 276 you need to try 215 which is the other half of the Devil's Triangle. West of Asheville is 209 that goes from north of Waynesville to Hot Springs.
