Default Seat for 1996 Road King

Not much I could find regarding availability of aftermarket seats for 1996 RK's. I want one with a backrest. Seems there was a frame change in 97 so 96 and older seats for RK's are rare. I found one from Mustang, but the price is very high ($500). Any ideas where I might look?

Corbin is decent. I ride with a 96 RK that is using the gunfighter and he loves it. He paid $380.00 for it brand new. The back rest from Corbin are alittle pricey, however Ebay has an aftermarket one for little money. I had a ginfighter and lady on my 98 FB and also liked it alot better than stock.

Ebay would be your best bet. http://protac.net/ This place makes a really great backrest for the money. I have one for my Springer, Ultra, and Road Kings. They are the only kind that I have found to work with a solo seat. They work great with a two up seat as well. When you call to order one, they will ask what kind of seat, how tall you are, etc. Then they make it based on that.

Having just been put off buying new from Corbin for life, after reading hellish customer service stories, I've been looking at a "fixer-up-er" for a 96 Road King.

This Corbin gunfighter has lost its front bracket and I'm trying to work out how it works. It just has two holes.

The STD HD seat I already have has a crossways bracket which slips under a tongue on the frame.

This seat looks as if it has a tongue mount like the later Kings have.

Does anyone have any idea how it fits?

I'm wondering if it is actually for the 94-96, or if they require a fitting kit?
