I don't know if this has been covered before or not, but what about us guys who wanna remove the tour pak's on their e-glide, and not make it QD? I just wanna remove it and add a upright and p-pad. What are the parts needed? It's a 02 electra glide classic. I'm just thinking that this would be cheaper than the QD way? It would not bother me to spend a little time bolting it back up.
I took this route on my '01 Ultra about a year ago. Found new (in box) parts on ebay and the whole setup cost me about $150 including shipping.
I used the following parts:
[ul][*] 53341-97A Chrome Four-Channel Luggage Rack[*] 52708-97B Pillow-Look Oval Passenger Backrest Pad
[/ul]
If you take your time, all of the wiring will boundle nicely under the seat and side covers with tie-wraps. I used the pillow-look backrest to match my stock seat.
Overall, it took me less than 1 hour to remove the tour-pak and install the rack/backrest.
I put 15k miles on my skoot with the tour-pak on it and have added another 10k without it. I did buy a "full dresser" T-Bag that works great when i'm packing for long trips
