Default Compare Road King with Electra Glide
Friends:

I have read that a Road King is a factory customized Electra Glide. Can you all compare the two for me? Is the frame the same? Motor?

I'd call the road king a stripped down electraglide maybe. Same frame, drivetrain, suspension....

The only real difference I am aware of is the Roadking comes with a detachable windshield, and the Electraglide has the batwing fairing. Same frame, engine, transmission, wheels, electrical, etc.

Your Classic Electra Glide also has guages and radio in the batwing.

An Electra Glide is simply a Road King with a Fairing/Stereo/Instruments and a Tourpak. Otherwise they're the same bike.

One MIGHT say.... the Road King is more like the old style Harley , a basic bike with no frills. plus detachable windshield, and bags.
The Various glides, are the "factory custom bikes". Fairing, radio, gauges lights, widgets, sparkles, and farkles added
