Default Ethanol

So I believe it was the owners manual that said not to run gasoline with Ethanol, I am having trouble finding a gas station that doesn't have a "10% Ethanol" sticker on the pump! Do you know of any?

Prolly depends on your state. Hard to find in Wisconsin also, but the dealer says no problem with only 10% ethanol.

10% ethanol here in Mi too. The bad is that the fuel separates a lot faster than any other.. and fuel stabilizer is a must. Another forum I frequent is a bass boat site. Guys there have posted pictures of fuel that separates in just two weeks in a mason jar. My recommendation... Stabil or Seafoam additive.

Re-read your manual. I'm sure it says up to 10% ethanol is acceptable. Mine does. I've been running 10% in everything I own with no additives for 10+ years with no troubles.

I agree, I believe it says Methanol isn't acceptable. Ethanol is, up to 10%

It may be my imagination but I think some of the largest distributors are putting more than 10% ethanol additive. When the use of ethanol began it was to be an additive over the summer months. Now it is an additive all year.
Here we get 93% octane, and for years I looked for Sunoco stations. This last couple of years I noticed exceleration and idle roughness.
This summer I began using local gas pumps and adding an additive resulting in better overall preformance.

I dont disagree that ethanol isnt acceptable to burn....I do say that it WILL SEPARATE from the gasoline without additive. The other post about adding 2 cycle oil....
I will tell you that ethanol separates quicker with 2 stroke oil in the fuel mixture. For that reason Seafoam and others state to use double the amount in the fuel mixture.

Have noticed some difference with 10% ethanol but can live with it however am starting to see 15% at some places now .. That scares me as did this once before looking close and filled it 15% ethanol and ran like crap.. Thats a full 50% increase over 10%
