I've had the Smooth Push-Button Fuel Console Door Release, H-D part #53919-04A, on every Ultra I've owned. I like it and have never worried about some kid putting rocks into the fuel tank. It's just as easy for someone to take a key to the paint or simply knock the bike over if they want to mess with you, so no sense in me worrying about someone who MIGHT mess with the fuel cap.

The is a little pressure on the cap when I close it, so no problems with any rattles either.

[QUOTE=ezriderpgh;5785384]HD with lock and etched. Don't need a lock? Say that when some kid puts rocks in your tank.

What about all the bikes out there that don't have locking gas caps? I have just the push HD one for two years w/o any problems. Never would be without one.

+1 on the vandals. I don't think a cheapo lock is going to stop them anyway.
I bought mine today. Same as yours.

I am on my second HD push button, the first one broke. The pin came out one day and could not put it back together. Cheap enough, so I just bought another one. Still cheap China stuff, but much better than having to get a key to unlock the fuel door.

Had the HD locking push button and it bites, I usually have to push it in with a key or knife to get it to pop up. Finally got feed-up with it and ordered the smooth HD push button. $23 from zannottis.

+1 on the HD non locking push button-------inexpensive------ and I hate fumbling to find my damn keys everytime I stop for petrol.

Harley Locking one, buttons needs to be pressed with a finger tip, No Gloves!

Rarely lock it only when I walk away somewhere I don't know the neighbours....

Red face Second Button

I am on my second smooth HD button and they both rattled. I have shown my dealer and no real answers. I have the second button off and in my basement and the stock lock back on. Frustrating. Any hints here would be nice. It sounds like this part works for most people.......hmmmm.

The Kury looks bigger than the HD and should be easier to push down. You can't lock it, which doesn't bother me cause anyone can open the locked fuel door anyway.
The HD looks smaller and you can lock it. Some people complain that it's not easy to push down and its quality is so-so.
Both seems to have pros and cons. They're also priced pretty much the same.

Which one should I buy?
I thought the whole idea was to go keyless! No brainer...........

I just took the lock apart, turned the locking tang 180 deg and put it back together. Now I just push down on the rear of lid to open for fuel fills. Free!!!
