I've had several bikes in the past.... Sportys, Dynas, and a Softail, but I've NEVER had so much trouble keeping a bike clean as I have with my '09 vivid black Street Glide. The thing is a total dust magnet, I figure because of the fiberglass. My Dynas (one vivid black, the other black denim) stay clean all day using a California duster each morning but the FLHX is a completely different story.
Yesterday afternoon, I washed the bike and immediately rolled it into the garage. After the 30 second, 20 foot trip to the garage, it had a nice thin coat of dust on all the painted surfaces. Is there anything that will help keep it clean and repel dust?
Seriously though, I have a vivid black RG and prolly don't have it as bad as you, but have noticed the dust. Some folks here will swear by lemon pledge, but I haven't tried it yet. Maybe somebody else can speak to its effectiveness at repelling dust.

Hey, at least the dust doesn't keep me from riding year 'round in AZ
I'll give Pledge a try.
Like I said, I don't have this trouble with the other bikes so I'm thinking it's a static electricity thing with the fiberglass.
I also have a 09 SG vivid black and it is a PITA to keep dust off but I do love the color. My softail was also black but did not seem to show as much but I think part of that is that the bagger is so much bigger the the rest of the line it just picks up the dust. I have used pledge with a micro fiber towel and it works well but the next day it is dusty again. Just ride it and enjoy it. Also the bags, sidecovers and fairing are ABS plastic not fiberglass anymore.
A good wax job and Lemon pledge. I live in NM so I know what you go through, but the dust doesn't bother me, or raindust spots. When I go home in the evening I will hit most of it with a microfiber clother with some pledge on iit. Takes about 10 minutes and that's it for me. If I can't get to it, I'll just ride it dusty or dirty.
They all attract dust. A few hours in the garage is all it takes. I have had vivid black, black pearl, blue, and copper and they all get dusty quick. More painted surfaces makes it more obvious.
