Well, I got my new 09 SG last August. (love it)
But between weddings, funerals, birthdays, etc. I've only been able to get about 500 miles on her.
Been planning on riding for the last few weekends..hell it's still Oct...but the weather isn't cooperating.
Live in SE Wyo, and we just got dumped on with snow.. AGAIN! Not sure I'll ever get the 1000 mile oil change done. %&it this is going to be a lonnnng winter.
Do they make snow chains for an 09SG? I may have to be put on suicide watch come Dec.
I know....I know. I need to move south.
Sorry guys...just needed to get some of this off my chest to those who would understand.
sorry about your misfortune, but if it were me, i would go ahead and do the 1000 mile service early to get rid of the contaminants before you put her up for the winter.
i wouldn't want that junk just sitting in my new engine for 4 or 5 months......
I just saw a post on here the other day of a gent riding his Cross Bones in South Dakota with snow on the street. Crazy in my opinion, but apparently doable if you dare. Said he rides year round.
I agree 110%. Between my two jobs, and other personal issues, I hardly ever have time to ride anymore. I live like 10 minutes from work, so the trip to work and back just doesn't cut it. Then, when I DO have time to spare, it's pouring down rain!! I think it has poured like every other day here in Western KY this month, WTF??!! Oh well, I ride when I can, and work on it or clean it when I can't. The day WILL come, when I can do those thousands of mile trips, like I hear others speak of, ONE DAY!!!
Yep, go ahead and do your service now. Atleast you'll be spending some time with her. You could also just go ahead and start doing some mods now. We would love to help you spend your money.
I live less than 10 minutes to work and still ride every day I can, if the roads are dry. Will take any excuse to leave for a half hour or more and cruise, even in 30* temps. When it hits the 20s I'll prolly leave her at home.
Living in South Florida I get to ride pretty much anytime but I know the feeling well between my business, my kids gaes and personal things the scoot has really taken a long break. Hell I even put new brakes on and a new rear tire and I have not put more than 20 miles since I did this...
Thanks guys...just to add insult to injury, I checked the road report after my post and the roads are closed..I work in NE Wyo...and now I can't even get home...WTF is right!
I was born and raised here so you'd think I was used to it...but the 'longer in tooth' I get...the more I %^&*ing hate the weather.
But I do appreciate the advise on the service. I think I'll take her in next week if it's not $%^&ing snowing!
As far as mods...I have started a few...with more to come.
