Carpet keeps down on static caused by rubber to concrete contact. A bike that receives static will attract more dust and therefor need more cleaning and producing less riding time.....

Sears red jack works great with my '94 Dyna & '82 FXE, but they're much lighter than your Ultra. But if I were in your place, and could afford a $30,000 bike, I'd probably go with one of those high $$$ jacks too.

Had a Sears for my cruiser bikes. Bought a J&S for my bagger. It is definitely worth it. The stability and slow hydraulic release is better by far.

Your thread title says you are looking for a "good" jack. I was as well and compared the $79 ones to the J&S (couldn't find a Pitbull to see) and decided that there really was a big difference. I bought the J&S and couldn't be happier. I feel much more confident in putting my bike on it. No need for tie downs on the J&S, really stable, easy to move the bike around while on the jack.
