OK I've been trying to decide for about 2 mos now which slip ons to go with on my 09 FLHX. I narrowed it down to two but need more infor to decide which is the better choice. I want a nice rumble but also don't want it to sound stock at idle. And although I've heard good things about the V&H MO I just don't like the size/looks of them. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm working on the same kind of decision. I was considering V&H Monster Ovals and the Bub 7 Stealths until I went to Biketoberfest and let the Kuryakyn rep try to talk me into buying the Crushers.
Here's my real question now: Both the Kury rep and my local dealer are telling me I should go with true duals, and not just the slip-ons. And the HD guy says Rush, too. Have to go back to hear his before I decide if I want to consider Rush. But what about the true duals? Is this a good idea?

Just did the true duals(V&H basics and Tru Duals) on my 08 SG after having just slip-on for a while. Duals are louder with the same mufflers and sound much more like a Harly should IMO. Less heat on my right leg now too. Torque loss seems minimal to me. You will probably need some type of fuel management with duals.
I had the Rush and the packing blew out with less than 1000 miles. I then went to true duals with the V&H big shots. I lost a ton of bottom end torque. I ended up with the Rinehart slip ons. A little quiet for my taste but the bike never ran better. I'm happy with them
You might have trouble finding Rineharts right now. I heard they're switching manufactures. Completetly your choice. I'm running Bub's and love 'em but that's just me. You'd be happy with either.
I have the Rinehart T/D. I started with the SE slip ons and my dads V-star sounded better, well we can't have that! So I went with the Rinehart TD's and couldn't be happier, nice sound at idol and when you crank er up here comes the sound. A+ in my book, just my.02 TODD
