Wink Saying goodbye to a fun first year

I have thoroughly enjoyed my new ride this season. Unfortunately winter comes. Today looks like one of our last chances to ride until Spring. All I know for sure is that there are just a handful of riding days possibly left until the bike is put away until Spring.

Many of you will say ride year around. I used to do that until one dry, sunny, cold, winter day I wen for a ride. Rode over a tape stripe marking on the road which had frost on it. I was down in an instant. No injuries but over $1000 to repair the damage. Just not worth the cost.

Well, as P. T. Barnum used to say..."always leave 'em wanting more!".

Next season I will be looking forward to a long tour ride with my wife. Nothing better than seeing this beautiful country from a bike. The sites, sounds, and smells really create a uniques experience. I feel lucky that I discovered riding. How lucky we all are!

Off to ride!

We are darn lucky. Be safe in Yankee land ( brrrrrr).
Yeah, nothing like having the senses come alive while riding...as they say "priceless"
Everyone have fun, watch yourself if you do ride this winter and "Come On Spring".....

I really don't how you Northern gentlemen stand the winter months. When it gets cloudy and below 50* down here, I'm totally depressed! I just couldn't deal the Northern winters, sorry.

If you can find a copy of the HOG #004 magazine that just came out, check out the picture on page 54 -- the Cross Bones owner in South Dakota says he rides all winter. You can almost "feel" the ride, looking at the shot.

I'm not one to venture out in the snow & ice, but a little rain & cold is no big deal. (Good, 'cause we get a lot of it in the winter!)

Sorry to hear.....When it gets cold down here, I just think about all you guys up north and I ride anyway. Of course, I am sure our respective definitions of cold are two different things

I hope the winter passes quickly for you all. Can't imagine having to dry-dock the bike for months at a time. I'd be in a straight-jacket if I couldn't ride that long! A week or two and I'm going nuts.

I grew up in the Chicago area so I know how miserable those winters are. Hope it goes quickly for you!

Yeah, I agree with that -- great riding much of the year. While it's only a few hours of easy riding from Seattle to get there, gotta figure out how to get through the Siskiyous/Mt. Shasta area without getting hammered!
