Hi All!
New to this forum. Did a prior search to see if my problem was ever discussed...no luck. Anyway, I have an 03 Roadglide, FI, Stage II, Vance and Hines. Had it dyno'd a while back. I seem to get inconsistent backfire when decel (Going downhill, no acceleration) at around 3000-3500 RPM. I sometimes get a small backfire when switching gears. Runs good, no other problems. Any suggestions?
I just had the same thing done....Dynoed at a top rated shop. I was told ahead of time they can't gaurantee no popping on decel with V+H slip ons. The shop flat out said some pipes are better than others on that, but they would get the bike running at it's peak.
Long story short...the bike still pops on the occasional shift and on decel from time to time...however, it runs much better and has much less popping than prior to the dyno.
Thx MOking! Thought it might need adjustment...Anyway, I thought it may be the plugs so I changed them to the SE ones specifically for the stage II. Upon removing the old ones, the dealer still had the stock ones since I added the stage II! We'll c how it goes....
When I had the slip ons my backfire was from an exhaust leak(the dyno guy told me this was common). I ended up having to put some muffler cement at the inlet of the right hand slip on. Once I got it sealed off it stopped all that decel pop and backfire.
