Default No difference with PCIII.

Last night I installed my PCIII and I have not been able to tell much if any difference. I loaded one of the maps from PC that included the exact air, exhaust, and stage 1 ect that I have. I am still getting the popping on decel. I cannot really tell any difference. I also tried the same download but without the stage one and did not notice any difference there either. BTW I am running a 2005 Road King with Vance and Hines Oval slip ons. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I thought I would see a difference. I know I was running lean before (my plugs looked a bit grey and dried like old charcoal). Should I be confident that the map is getting the added fuel there? Would the popping on decel still be there? I think I may let my local HD put it on the Dyno and work it out for me. I am a bit disapointed in the results I have seen in the PCIII. I just dont want to cause any damage to my ride.

Get it on the dyno, then you will feel the difference if the guy knows what he is doing!

most of the time you will see a little decleration pop no matter how it is tuned depending on mods. You may need somehting a little different. Did you try to pin your throttle wide open off idle and see how she revved up? Your deceleration pop may still be their but it does not mean it did not clean it up.

The maps you used are as what we call getting it in the ball park now it is time to tune. Every bike is like a finger print even with same parts they are all just a bit different. The decel pop is easy to fix, most times . But try to find a shop from the website that has the Tuning link, they will charge less and the maps are near perfect everytime. Really does not take a good tuner with the tuning link as the programs makes the changes. It works great, trouble is finding a location that has it.

Has anyone started collection everyones maps in one area where people can download them and try them? If they have their base map to go bakc to then it should not be a problem. But it will provide that little extra for people who do not have direct access to a dyno. I know for a couple bike si have I was able to get people organized to send me all their maps. when it was odne i had a list of maps, with each mod and where they lived. then i had a orugh idea of what was going on. Between all of them we oculd usually get someone in the ballpark.

Prior to installing the PCIII I pulled the plugs and saw that they were dry looking and grey like old burnt charcoal. After running the PCIII for about 20 miles I pulled the plugs again and noticed that they were darker and had a consistant texture. The threads were a little black and I could smell a light odor of fuel on the plugs. I assume that more fuel must be getting there now.

Bodyman,

There has been quite a few issues with 05's and 06 popping on decell. That is why in Version 4.50 or version D of the latest SERT they introduced a new feature a decell fuel table where you can pull away fuel on decell stopping the popping. Of the ones I know of they were able to remove all decell popping when it is not a popping due to the slip on muffler / exhaust.

You've probably already checked them out, but the Powercommander web site has a few user submitted maps. I don't know if they'll just post anybody's map, but there weren't that many besides the maps DJet has already generated.
