Dawg.....Thanks.
Took my front D407 and had it replaced with a new D408 today at my HD.
Showed a copy of the service bulletin to the Service manager, he was aware of bulletin
and then he checked the tread depth and told me to stop back in 30 minutes and it would be ready.

Many thanks for this heads-up information brutha. I printed a copy of this bulletin and contacted my dealer (Pensacola H-D) in Pensacola, FL. I called them yesterday, 11/10 and made an appt for today. During the phone call the parts guys stated he didn't have a copy of the bulletin and could I please bring it in with me. I told him "yes, I would." When I got there this AM he had went online and retrieved the bulletin. Pensacola H-D was very professional and wasted no time looking at my badly cupped front tire. The tire has 14K on it so I was a bit worried if this would be an issue. Turns out that I rate a 100% replacement under warranty. The downside is that they don't have the 408's in stock yet and I will have to go back next weekend for the install. Doesn't matter about that because I'm very happy with the service by both the dealer and the factory for making this right. And my hat's off to you, too, for posting this bulletin, as I was just about to go it alone and purchase my own tire. Thanks! Unreal how this board gives and gives and gives.

Thanks again Dawg. I had my front tire replaced back in Aug, and even though the Moco had given me a claim number, they refused to do anything when I brought it into the shop. Long story short, the dealer ended up installing a new 408F for $150.
I brought a printout of the bulletin into the dealer on 11/6, and they said they would fax it to Moco. Still waiting to see when and if I'll get the dealer credit.
Thanks, dawg !. Printed out the info and took it over tov the dealer. They looked at the tire and said, "100% replacement". Asked them about the rear tire and it's cupping problem. They couldn't do it since there's nothing from the MOCO so they'll stick with the front tire for now. I'll need to make an appt. ASAP.

Since yesterday was Veteran's Day, I made sure that my time was worthwhile being off from work so I went over to my dealer at 10 AM and they got it all done by quarter after 11. Shook hands with Rich at Harv's and wished him Happy Holidays as we parted ways.
Dawg, If you hear anything about the rear tire situation..Please do post.
I complained at 1000 mile service, complained at 5000 mile service and the dealer told me I needed a tire, wrote the Area HD rep, he gave me the Service Bulletin number. Had 7430 miles on it and 1/32 left of tread. My stealer (Taegu Korea) gave me 100% credit. Replaced that baby this morning and she now handles a lot better.
Thanks for the info. I found the service bulletin worked, printed it out , faxed directly to Harley with info filled out got a call the next day from the dealer and they refunded the money I spent replacing the front tire.
Thanks your info was great , keep up the great work helping others.
I have 9,500 miles and find serious cupping on the front tire, rear seems to be wearing OK. Thanks for the information, I'll head to the dealer with some ammunition on Monday. This forum always has the answers. Thanks to all that contribute and a Happy and Safe New Year.
