First time in the forum. I've been readin' this stuff for awhile.....thought I'd try and get some help. I've read alot of the pro's and cons of aftermarket HD suspension. I just can't give up on the idea of slammin' my 2009 street glide. I had the front end dropped with the 1" drop kit from Harley. Not likin' it much. I have also played around with the air draggers and 440's from Progressive on the rear. I haven't achieved what I've wanted and not impressed with the ride quality at all. What I would like to get is a 1 1/2 - 2" drop in the front and slam the rear when I want. The unending question is can this be accomplished and still retain a reasonable ride? Reasonable to me is smooth over the minor imperfections in the road. You know, all of those nasty cracks and crevices in the highway. With more limited suspension travel, can any product provide a ride that doesn't hammer you to death. I've read alot about the intiminators, race tech front suspension systems, and air rides. What do you guys think??
I have the Arnott air ride system. I can ride my UC slammed or back up to original height or anywhere in between. The 09 has a pipe cross over and I have a center stand that will grab the road if you hit a bump. This can make the back tire loose traction and down you go. I do not feel safe riding a slammed bike on bumpy roads that is why I elected for the air ride. I can raise it back up for performance riding in the twisties. I now have the best of both worlds.
i have air ride front and rear on my 07. when you ride you inflate to regular hieght, when parked i hit the 2 switches and slams it. i dont experiance dragging on rear or banging front fender. this is pic of it dropped down.

I liked the idea of Arnott because they were willing to refund my money if I was dissatisfied with their product. Luckily I changed over to the Samson exhaust system so I don't have that crossover below the frame. How do you feel about the smoothness of your ride with the Arnott system??
