Red face Dont flame me.....but

I have an oil question. I do not want to get into which oil is better, just want to get the weights right.

Looks like 20w50 for engine and primary.. and a good heavy weight for trans..

Correct?

Pretty much except on primary. I use formula+ for primary and I think its more like 10w-40. On tranny I like a little heavier than 20w-50. But HD recommends it in all three holes I think.

20-50 for the engine. A good 10-40 is sufficient for the primary and a 75-90 for the tranny. You choices are just fine too.

I use 20/50 in the engine and primary and 75/140 in the trans

LOL and here we go with the great weight debate....
Ultimately.....it's your call..... if 50 people answer this thread there will be at least 40 different answers on this..... to each his own, it's your money in the long run, you decide what gives you the warm fuzzies..... ultimately there is no right and wrong (supposedly...another topic/ debate all together). To me alot of decisions on oil depend on what part of the country you are in.... to others, it reallly doesn't matter.... weight is weight..... In my personal opinion.... heavier on the engine and primary... you are good with the trans... everybody else will say fine or you can go lighter with the primary....
Personally, here in Alabama, I run heavier stuff.... (It gives me the warm fuzzies) I run a Straight 50 0r 60 weight synthetic in engine.... a 60 wt synthetic in the primary and a heavy weight ( I think it is a 75/250 mixed with a straight 250 weight synthetic) in the trans......
Like I said in the beginning.... Do what gives YOU the warm fuzzy feelings.... I just take in to consideration what I have seen and dealt with throughout my life and as a mechanic have paid attention to.I do know though that alot of newer cars that run 0 or 5 wt oil smoke really early in life where a little bit older cars that ran a 30 weight didn't smoke until they were worn out.... It kind of boils down to the same debate as the weight of bullets...which does more damage a light fast or a heavy slower bullet.... ultimately just do what makes you feel good about your decisions and what gives you peace at night............. Just my 2 cents
