hey guys
I have a 2010 elctra glide ultra limited with 103 engine
I am in Egypt and the dealer is really uptight about installing anything else than HD stuff, they trying to push the harley merchandise or they void my warranty.
can anyone help me with the best way to boost this sitting duck ?
I allready placed an order for:
power duals
monster ovals
free flow air filter
everyone seems to hate the SERT,is there any way to get that thing to auto tune ?
the egyptian dealer does not even have a dyno as it is too expensive for his taste.
all they do is flas the sert with a map they download off the the harley dealers website
please help
Don't believe you have to use dealer for a PC, just supply the pipes and air filter details and they will configure it for you. Then it's plug n play, although I haven't done it.
Dealers often use "warranty" as a way to keep you buying their parts. My understanding is any modification to stock has to contribute to the failure for it to invalidate the warranty and it's only relevant to that particular item.

I know you're tryin' to help the guy but you're referring to U.S. law. Since he's in Egypt our laws are irrelevant. He's pretty much on his own for learning Egyptian law concerning warranty, & dealing with his dealer.

Hi no problem, but I'm in Dubai (Middle East and not too far from Egypt) and I'm referring to international OEM warranty standards as I'm also in the auto industry.

In the US, we have the "Moss-Mangurson" act, that prevents such warranty abuse. In Egypt, you should consult your local "consumer protection agency" if such a thing exists.
In theory, you would only risk, the warranty on the paticular item, you had modified.

That's called the Magnuson-Moss Waranty Act and it's a U.S. federal law so you're right, it's not going to apply. However the MoCo ultimately warrants the bike and the mods you want to do are often offered by dealers stateside. So, is this guy saying if you install an aftermarket mirror or hand grips your warranty is voided? If it were me I'd go ahead with the mods you have planned and install myself, but keep the old parts just in case. Meanwhile you might try contacting the MoCo and see what they have to say. Good luck.
