I didn't worry about any light when I used a laydn LED taillight (no bottom window) from www.ridetimetechnology.com .

This would not pass in California. The California Vehicle Code requires that none of the License Plate be blocked and all be visible.Part of the numbers are blocked and the numbers on the stickers are not visible. If you ever drive in California expect cop to be bored and pull you over.

Well, it works great in the south. All the numbers are visable, and illuminated. As for CA, I rode across mid CA to San Fran, then up the coast till Oregon, then back home, no problems.

I'm not saying you will get stopped. Just that it might happen. I don't want to give the Probable Cause for a stop. I don't want to have a big sign above my head that yells "Stop me. Here is the reason you need!"

And one letter (the "A") is partially blocked. Enough for a stop.
