Victory does make some pretty innovative products and powerful for the money...I hope they stay in business because we need some variety, i like my HD FLHTC but it's not to say that i will always own a HD...it's a nice bike but it's just a bike...they come and they go...I have always like HD but other manufacturers like Victory pop up out of the woodwork and chip away at HD...MOCO will always have a place because of the Heritage and History but they do need to keep up with the times and be a bit more innovative and daring to attract the rest of the biker group...They tried it with Buell but i honestly think that those bikes should've had the name H-D on them and they would've fit better in the showroom.....

This isn't stock mind you. I researched the Cross Country A LOT before I bought my Street Glide since I did have a Victory already. If memory serves me correct, to get the "special" cable to sync up with the radio is not cheap AND it is Apple IPOD only. NO OTHER Mp3 players work with it. While this isn't a big deal for some it was a disappointment for me as I have a Microsoft Zune and LOVE IT! The Zune pass is one of the best deals going for a subscription service that also lets you keep 10 songs a month.

I wouldn't say I overly "brand loyal". I buy what I like. I loved the looks of my Streetglide and I loved riding it when I test rode it so I bought it. If I was ready to purchase and something else came along that I wanted I might trade. My bike is my daily transportation in addition to my enjoyment so I ride about 20K/year without major trips. I don't care if I pull up and there are 50 red hot sunglow SGs in the parking lot I still love mine!
My rambling point is, I think the Vicory has a ways to go in the style department. The Cross country doesn't do it for me, nor do any of the other victorys. I do think that HD should look out in the long term. Maybe not from Victory but there are a lot of "copies" out there and they all take away a few customers. I think that Harley could be a little more innovative. Victory is putting out a lot of nice "extras" that you pay extra for on an HD. But bottom line they are extras on a less atractive bike.

It's not so much that I'd sell my SG to buy a Victory. It's Victory's attempt to listen to the buying public and make changes to their product line to actively address the wants of their customers. HD is slow to change and not very attentive to wants of their current customer and the new consumer, who is the future of all retail sales. HD has to loose the attitude that OEM stock quality parts can be substandard because after purchase the customer will upgrade to the premium replacement part. Example: the hinges on tour pak; OEM stamped metal vrs. chrome premium upgrades. Scrape the stamped metal and make the chrome ones standard. Just remember the customer is always right.
