Harmon kardon problem
working on my third radio in 8 months, speakers kept cutting out. should have the third one installed under warranty next week. dealer said it would be a refurbished one, I was disappointed that it wouldn't be a brand new one.
Multiple replacements over such a short period of time for speakers cutting out is a good indication of a broken fairing bracket. Your dealer needs to take a good look at them. seen this many times.
Sorry all did not realize some beat me to the punch on the crap radios Harley has chosen:
started a thread and this was already going. Forgive me....
I just had my 3rd Harmon Kard installed on my 08 RG and hopefully 3rd time is a charm as they say.
1st issue was backlight went out.
2nd was the screen blanked out..still had sound just screen went on and off.
3rd yet to be seen.
What bugs me is we spend 20K plus on these things and they cant even get a decent radio to have installed. Is harmon Kard trying to go out of business?

i am about to have them repair/replace my unit for the 4TH TIME!
CD player is what's giving me problem. Same problem every time. CD skips & breaks up.
I've had the fairing struts replaced 4 TIMES! Someone metioned the radio problem might be related to excessive vibration.
I ride alot. Have a 2007 flhx w/ 46,000 miles.
Very please w/ bike. Can't say the same for the radio/cd unit.

I had my classic 2 months and on the way to the dealer I lost all reception. They advised the speaker wire was too close to the fairing and it shorted it. Fortunately, it was under warranty and replaced.
