Default Radio has a mind of its own.

Sorry for asking again, My radio on 06 Ultra comes on almost every time i start the bike. I turn it off with the button on the radio, then next time i start the bike it comes back on.

Has anyone had this happen and figured out how to fix it??? Thanks.

Is your radio a radio sound unit , or the HK unit.
I don't remember what the cutoff year was, if it is a radio sound unit , you can call, and ask them.http://www.radiosound.com/

Check the software version.
8.11 was the fix for that. Anything prior should be updated

I have the exact same problem with my '0-10 Ultra. Software has been updated a couple of times but nine times out of ten, the radio will turn 'on' from the 'off' setting upon start-up. Dealer told me, at least in my case, they would have to change out the stereo and even thought the bike was almost brand-new when I first reported it, they told me that they could only replace it with a refurbished unit. Figured I rather stick with the known problem rather then getting someone else's.

i have never owned an HD/HK radio that worked properly even with software fixes, etc. And in my case specifically, if I was listening to a CD when I turned the bike off, when I restarted it (as you do in your car) one would expect the CD to continue playing where it left off. Nah.. I'd say a good 85% of the time it came back on in FM mode and the other 15% came back on in AM mode. Never lost power to it either.. Always had the right time and kept my FM presets..
