Remove Fuel Tank 2005 EFI RK Custom

I want to remove my fuel tank to send my tank away and have it painted. Is there anything special I need to know or things to do first?

I just did this myself last week to paint it myself. I've got an 05 as well.

Nothing too difficult about removing the tank. However, its a little more difficult once you crack it open. The last owner couldn't figure it out and ended up cutting the wires leading to the gas gauge and electrical taping them back together.

You have a small amount of space and slack on the tubes/wires. Not complex just takes some patience!

Sent you a PM. Put a quick connect on the line when you put it back on. Get one from Herko Products on ebay (John Wadsworth). This is a great item to have.
