My Ultra was Black Pearl so I didn't see any benefit in the painted inner, but I'm seeing them on different colored bikes and they make a huge difference. Worth it..
Many ways to do this. Buy a painted fairing from harley (or somebody else), take yours off and get it painted or buy another one off of ebay (or this site) and have it painted. Do the work yourself so that you learn a bit about your bike and your satisfaction level will go up tremendously once you finish it. Just allow a day to do it (won't take that long but allow for anything). It's pretty easy but make sure you have the manual and read over it before starting.
I bought the HD one from Zanotti for $443 then sold mine on hear for $100.
I know that's not the cheapest way to do it, but I knew it would be right and I have to look at the inner fairing every time I ride the bike.
I had mine done locally for $100.00 (vivid black). Doesn't sound like a good deal to me, especially with shipping charges tacked on.
Same here. I got mine done locally for a hundred bucks. I did however buy a extra inner fairing off ebay to keep down time to a minimum. I ended haveing a $150 in once it was painted and I don't see a problem selling my old one but am holding on to it in case I decided to change colors of the bike later.
Anyone know where I can get a good deal on an inner fairing and cap (no cracks etc) for an 06 SG that does not have the holes for mirrors?
Thanks
There are a few for sale in the classifieds. You can use a 08 and up fairing. You will just need to dremel out the hole for the thottle cables.( it is marked on the inside) by doing this you now can use the 4 hole adjustable air deflectors. I'm running a 09 on my 07 no problems

Agree, Using an 08 on my 07 so I can use the new air deflectors if I wish...Best mod, bought a used take off and sold mine here on the Forum for the same I paid for the takeoff. Total cost $125 and about 4 hours of my time.
I asked my dealer who they used for paint repair and he did a perfect match
