I have to make a decision by tommorrow afternoon. I have to decide on a Road King or Electra Glide Standard. I love the look of the RK, the black and chrome engine, and the removable windshield. I like the option of a radio and the cheaper price of the EG Standard, but would need a seat because it sits me too close to the tank and crushes the boys. I have to call the dealer before 1pm tommorrow. Any thoughts? thanks
I love my road king classic. never have ridden a glide but I'm sure it's great too. I personally didn't want the fairing. It just depends on what suits your taste. I'm sure if you were touring the fairing would be great.

What's more important to you for the long haul? Are you touring more than cruising? You can dress up that Standard. It IS a tough call.........both handle the same. That fairing is mighty nice on the highway............
Just wanted to put my two cents in. Go with the ROADKING! Love mine! The ride is the same either way you go. Can strip down roadking, cant the standard. I just came from your shoes and decide to got with the roadking agian. May be because I already owned one though. Good luck on the choice!!!

I had the same dilemma. Went with the EG Standard. The cost savings gives you plenty of room for upgrades on the standard. I've ridden both and IMHO, the standard is a bit more confortable on long hauls. Either way, you can't lose.
I Had a 99 EG Standard (rode it from Canada to Southern Mexico), then bought a 2000 RK standard. I liked the EG but absolutely loved the RK, owned it for 6 years and 55000 miles. After a seat change I found it to be every bit as good a tourer as the EG standard with almost identical wind protection, but a notch up on the cool scale...but thats just me. They're both gorgeous bikes. One of those really tough choices...
I'm partial to the Road King - just bought mine 4 months ago. I never really considered the EG mainly because I didn't plan on doing alot of touring & what I did plan to do, I felt the RK would do just fine.
