mike here, just bought a new roadglide and im riding it like a dog. 500 on it in the last few days. im loving it. i used to race motorcross, but it sure feels good to be rolling with the big boys now
The RG is a great bike, and this is a great site. I just converted mine from a Police EG to a RG a couple of months ago. I figure it's now a FLTRPI.
Took my first ride on it in a month this morning. I changed the rear tire (from a worn police run-flat to a Dunlop Elite III 140) and sent my stock mufflers to the Smooth Bore (ebay) guy, since I had the mufflers off for the tire change. I had the mufflers recored to the HP-1's. It took about three weeks to get the mufflers back, and we had a vacation to the beach. Stayed up late last night (actually early this morning) and got everything back together and cleaned her up. I was ready to ride after 30 days off. It was a great ride.
It ran just perfect today, smooth, rock-steady, and with what I percieve as a little more roll-on pull. Took two of my boys for their first rides, after I took a solo shake-down run with the new parts.
BTW - Those HP-1 recores sound good to me. Actually a little louder than I was expecting, but I thought maybe they'd be too quiet. Glad I didn't go with the HP-2's. I didn't want loud, just a little more rumble. The price was right, I kept the stock look, and it sounds like a Harley now.
Sorry for the ramble, welcome again, and ride safe.
