Okay -- I know that personal preference dictates final determination of "best sound," but here is the dilemma:
I have a 2005 Ultra. I have concluded that I will soon convert to true duals. The two systems I am looking at include Rinehart ($899 on e-bay) and T-Rex 3" ($589 on e-bay). My question isn't necessarily "which is the best sound," but which offers the fuller, low rumble? Also, not necessarily looking for the loudest pipe. I've got the Samson Rolled Thunder slip-ons, and they are loud in the mid-range at highway speeds, fullness is gone, and they compete with the radio for my attention.
I just installed a rinehart true dual system with ness bike sucker air and power comander in a fuel injected 02 road king.
It's rumble city down here. Best way to go. I ride with a bunch of guys over in brockton, so I hear a lot of differant stuff. Rineharts always rumbles best.
You've already tried the low cost way and it did not get what you want.[:@]
there is a reason that rinehart gets $850 for their system, for me it was well worth it. Other guys will say differant. the best things is to do some rides and chack out other pipes, see what you like.
gas milage went up from 35 (stock set up) to 40, the bike runs better with the power comander and better breathing. Performance and sound are awesome.
Sorry its late and I'm tired and ready to go home. What I mean is that while all 3 systems may have a different tone. How pleasing that tone is all up to the person hearing it. What I love you may hate. But what I can tell you for sure is that all 3 of those systems get higher pitched with rpm. None of them will keep the deep pitch they have at idle. Its just the nature of straight through baffle muffler. If you must have a true dual then you may want to check the thunderheader. They now offer true dual. In my oppion you wasting money on true duals. Keep the cross over and you will make better tq. with a stock bike.
Go with Hard Krome 3" and you will not be missing anything (except CLAMPS). Performance, style, and the sweetest, fattest, solid, rumblin' sound of em' all. I would'nt trade 'em for any other dual system, at any price! $310 more for rineharts, get real.[:@]
I am with you Maine,
I have had 4 sets over the past 4 months !
I think we are finally done (St least until I move to true duals over the winter) but these slips ons are great
Supertrapp SE Slip Ons, I get allot of compliments on the Deep Harley Sound and the power and Tourqe increase was better than all of the others.
