25+ years ago I ran a 15" Michelin radial rear tire on my rigid Shovel.1/2 the price of a Goodyear Super Eagle and I couldn't wear it out, definately took some getting used to in the curves but no major catastrophies. We used to do a lot of goofy things to save a buck back then.Don't believe I'd try them on a 900lb touring bike though.

Sir,
I am stationed at Robins AFB,Ga. I changed over to the darkside in febuary of 2009 on my venture and rode all over the mid georgia area. I also took the bike up to deals gap in the late spring to see how the bike would ride I was very impressed with the cornering and how the bike performed. I do all of my own maintence so I bought a tire change kit and did my own tire change and for balancing I went to the DYNA balancing beads. What started me down this path was a friend of mine who has a goldwing with a run flat car tire on his bike. I can say that this idea is not for everyone but it is an option for some riders.
have a great day

I want to put a car tire on my 2008 ultra.
I think that the rim is too narrow on this bike to do this.
Where did you find the info for what fits on your bike?
Thanks

My bro ran a car tire on his 08 Nomad. We went to deals gap, I rode behind him..the tire looked like it maintained a decent patch throughout all the turns and my brother said it handled just fine for him. I suspect your average rider will not notice any difference in handling, only those that really push the envelope.

I understand what you are saying, I just have trouble believing it. Maybe it's because I come from more of a sportbike background and I used to roadrace / still have a trackbike, but I just can't see how one can take corners as well as with a normal profile. What I'm hung up on is your original statement that the car tire "gave me better handling". If it did, why don't roadracers use them? I just can't understand it. I'm just having trouble with this one. Not trying to be rude or dis-respectful, I just can't bite on the claim. I have to see it for myself. Everyone I've ever seen with a car tire almost stops to make a turn on the street. Not that I've seen many either. I have no experience with it, and I don't understand it. I'm sure plenty can ride very well with them.

Not here to argue or , so I'll stop taking up space and let everyone continue.

Car tires are for cars dude, get you a wide motorcycle tire. Don't want you killing yourself.

I know a few people with car tires on their bikes. No problems whatsoever. Unless you consider not having to replace a rear tire every 10k miles a problem.
