I'm going to try a car tire on my next change. I'm not really interested in hearing a bunch of people with opinions but no experience. What I would like is to hear from people experienced with car tires. What brand tire and what is your experince with it.
If you have run a car tire and gone back to a MC tire, I would like to hear why you went back.
If you are running a car tire and like it, what brand?
I put on a Dunlop 195/65r16 and ran it this summer. Worked excellent. Try it you`ll like it. I think it`s an SP5000. If you have trouble getting it mounted try a chopper shop.
I did it on the VTX that I had, and I don't think
that I would do it againg. I read everything I could
before I did it and it did ride great going straight
but I never did get used to the different feel when
doing other than that. Nothing big or bad to say
either way, just not for me.
-I- have a Bridgestone Terranza 195-65-16 on my bike now. I have 14,000 trouble free miles with no regrets. I run between 28 to 30 lbs of air for best ride and wear. I will never go back to a MC tire. To me, it handles just as good in the twisties as the MC tire. With 7" of rubber on the road, the brakeing is awsome, as the wet pavement rideing. Living down here in S TX, most on my riding is straight, so I wear the center of a MC tire out first. I get between 10,000 and 14,000 from a MC tire and exspect between 30,000 and 40,000 from the CT.
